FAQ: TriboTEX: More HP, Better MPG, and Less Wear in Car Engines
For the most up-to-date information about the status of our project, check our project updates on Kickstarter!

My vehicle is a diesel. Will your product still work?

Yes, we have shown that TriboTEX works in diesel engines when used at about 3X the concentration as in gasoline engines. If you want the same effects in your diesel engine, apply 3X as much TriboTEX as you would for a gasoline engine.

This is because diesel engines have a much higher soot content and a higher compression ratio. This combination interferes with our nano material’s ability to bind to the metal surfaces inside the diesel engine, so more is needed to effectively get the same results as those observed in gasoline engines.

We may be announcing a stretch goal for a special formulation for diesel engines in the next update…

I would really like to try your product. Where can it be bought?

You can get TriboTEX exclusively through our Kickstarter campaign right now. We’ll be selling TriboTEX at a much higher price on Amazon after the campaign, so get yours now while it’s at the lowest price ever for our first customers.

How do I get to use the oil on my car? I have a (car make and model) and can take videos on how it helps my engine.

Yes, please send us any videos or results you find using the product! We are always finding ways to improve the formula and would appreciate hearing your experience, good or bad.

I am interested in selling your product in Canada/UK/Europe/Australia. What do I need to get started?

We are beginning a distributor program after we complete our Kickstarter launch, but for now you can get a 10 pack of TriboTEX for $500. This is 50% lower than MSRP and will be lower than our eventual distributor pricing.

How much TriboTEX do I need to apply to see the full effect?

You need to apply one unit of TriboTEX for every 3-8 quarts (liters) of oil. The coating lasts over 40,000 miles before it needs to be reapplied, so you can add TriboTEX at about every 10th oil change (assuming you change your oil every 4,000 miles).

Are TriboTEX nanoparticles safe and environmentally friendly?

Yes, TriboTEX’s nanoparticles are made from harmless ceramics using our patent pending process. The nanoparticles only react when exposed to high heat and pressure, so TriboTEX is just as safe to handle as baby oil.

The Early Bird DUO says that it has two tubes and that is good for up to 3 cars. Is this correct?

Unfortunately not. This is a typo that we didn’t catch when we made the new tier of rewards. Each gasoline tube of TriboTEX treats 3-8 Liters (quarts) of oil, so each tube is designed to treat one car’s worth of oil.

I have an engine that is XX L. How much TriboTEX do I need?

We base the amount of TriboTEX needed on the amount of oil you intend to treat, not the size of the engine. Each tube of TriboTEX is designed to treat 3-8 Liters of engine oil and lasts 40,000 miles. We recommend you continue to change your oil regularly (3,000-5,000 miles), but you won’t need to add TriboTEX to every oil change.

How much do I need for my motorcycle? Use 1/2 the regular 20mL syringe for a motorcycle. One syringe treats two motorcycles or a single car engine. If you are using a two-stroke motorcycle, we recommend adding a small amount of TriboTEX thru the spark plug hole and cranking the engine.

Will TriboTEX work well in older cars? Yes, TriboTEX is great for reversing wear in older engines and will not affect old seals. We have used TriboTEX in engines over 60 years old.

Will TriboTEX work with the modern oil in my new car? Yes, TriboTEX is compatible with all motor oils.

How long can I keep TriboTEX without using it? No, TriboTEX does not expire or have a shelf life.

BackerKit FAQ

What is BackerKit?

BackerKit is a service that crowdfunded project creators use to keep track of hundreds to tens of thousands of backers—from shipping details, pledge levels, preferences and quantities, whether they have paid or had their card declined, special notes, and everything in between!

The BackerKit software and support team is independent from the campaign’s project team—BackerKit does not handle the actual reward shipping. For more information about the preparation or delivery status of your rewards, please check the project's updates page.

How does BackerKit work?

After the campaign ends, the project creator will send you an email with a unique link to your survey. You can check out a walkthrough of the process here.

I never received my invitation. How do I complete the survey?

The most common reasons for not receiving a survey email is that you may be checking an email inbox different from the email address you used to sign up with Kickstarter, Indiegogo or Tilt Pro account, or it may be caught in your spam filter.

Confirm that the email address you are searching matches the email address tied to your Kickstarter, Indiegogo, or Tilt Pro account. If that doesn’t work, then try checking your spam, junk or promotions folders. You can also search for "backerkit” in your inbox.

To resend the survey to yourself, visit the project page and input the email address associated with your Kickstarter, Indiegogo or Tilt Pro account.

How do I update my shipping address?

BackerKit allows you to update your shipping address until the shipping addresses are locked by the project creator. To update your address, go back to your BackerKit survey by inputting your email here.

When will my order be shipped, charged or locked?

That is handled directly by the project creator. BackerKit functions independently of the project itself, so we do not have control of their physical shipping timeline. If you want to check on the project’s status, we recommend reading over the project's updates page.

I completed the survey, but haven't received my rewards yet. When will they arrive?

As BackerKit does not actually handle any rewards or shipping, the best way to stay updated on the shipping timeline would be to check out the project's updates page.
